A well made scooter with less-than ideal acceleration

The scooter looks great, rides well, and seems well constructed. I'm a touch sad at the less than zippy acceleration, even on flat ground. I bought this to replace a less-well made (Chinese) scooter, which eventually broke, but that scooter definitely had more torque, and accelerated faster (it's top speed was comparable).

Efficient, lightweight and portable

Very happy with this scooter, I use it to commute in NYC instead of the subways. Good speed, folds up nicely and fairly lightweight. I also use it to run simple errands. I like the hook on the front for bags. So far so good.

WOW THIS CITY RIDER SCOOTER IS SICK

Was in Florida for two weeks at sis house on my Uncle's scooter tooling around town.
Forget the brand he had but it was a lot of fun.
Went back home to So Cal and decided to do research on scooters.
Fluid freeride " City Rider had all the specs and more than I was looking for at the price point.
It got excellent marks in real life trials around town.
This scooter is off the wall sick for the price.
Stoked... I'd highly recommend.
Cheers

Great looks, fine for short commutes , GREAT customer resolution!

I sell wine for a living. I need to go from account to account swiftly and efficiently. But I needed portability to take it on the subway to go to different neighborhoods. I weigh in about 200lbs and my wine bag with 5 to 6 bottles and my gear can weigh up to 30lbs. A typical day would be a lot of stop and go. The battery seemed to wear down after 3 to 4 miles and performed very slow at about 5 to 6 miles. It died at about 7.5. Top speed in the beginning hit about 14-15mph. There may have been something wrong with the battery. Adam and his team worked with me on exchanging it. John recommended for my needs, the Horizon. I did not want to spend the extra money, but I did. The scooter would not be of use, if I could not get the performance I needed. FFR sent me a return label. I shipped it out. As soon as I emailed my Fed-Ex confirmation. they started the process of shipping out the Horizon. And charged me for the difference. Why 4 stars. FFR had great customer service, I was not stuck with a product I can't use. I think the Citi Rider is good scooter for someone with the right parameters. If you are not happy communicate quickly. And they will work something out.
The Horizon has been amazing the past few days. Extremely happy with the portability, range, ride and power. I'll write a separate review on the Horizon page.

electrek CITYRIDER Review

"This one seems like a no-brainer to me."

"The handling is excellent, and I can lean nice and far into corners, which is always tons of fun on a small scooter like this. [...] To put it simply, the CityRider electric scooter is punching above its weight and price class."
